"Why I'm Running for Office"

I decided to run for public office to advance a more personalized, efficient, and pragmatic county government freed from the limits of extreme partisanship and strict ideological adherence.

If elected I will always seek solutions that are actually workable and are economically efficient above feel good solutions that are in actuality wasteful and inefficient.  Good intentions do not always create good policy.  I advocate effective solutions for the 21st century.

Sincerely,

Kurt Koehler

The Candidate

A Brief Synopsis:

I have lived in the Ypsilanti area since 1984. I received a B.A. in Political Science and Communications from Hope College in Holland, Michigan in 2003.  I received a J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law in 2006.

I've been involved with county politics since I was elected as a Precinct delegate in 2002.  I last ran for the county commission in 2004.  I'm well aware that this district is not favorable for a republican candidate, but I'm running for office to give voters a choice in November.  As noted above, this is just a brief synopsis of my background.  If you have any other questions please contact me at kurtkoehler@kurtkoehler.org
